Lenovo Tab vs. Amazon Fire HD: Comparison Details

Best Max Storage Capacity – Tie
5.0 stars

Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Lenovo Tab's website, Lenovo Tab performs very well in terms of max storage capacity relative to other tablet stores.

The review site trustedreviews.com gives Lenovo Tab excellent ratings for max storage capacity in a review posted on its website. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

The biggest boon in terms of performance for the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus is the use of a mid-range chipset from Qualcomm – the Snapdragon 625 – as opposed to a MediaTek model. The latter are used in the some of the Fire tablets from Amazon and often lead to super-slow UIs and plenty of lag. There’s also 3GB of RAM and, on my review unit, 64GB of expandable storage.

One reviewer on engadget.com said Lenovo Tab performs well on max storage capacity relative to its peers. You can read the full review here. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

The Lenovo Smart Tab comes in two versions: the M10 ($199), and the P10, which starts at $299. The M10 is the more entry-level of the two, with a soft-touch rubberized finish back, 32GB of storage, two front-facing Dolby Atmos speakers, a 4,850mAh battery, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. The P10, which is the one I'm reviewing today, is slightly higher-end, with 64GB of storage, four front-facing Dolby Atmos speakers, a 7,000mAh battery, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel one on the front. Both have the usual volume and power buttons on the side, plus a USB-C connector and a headphone jack.

Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Amazon Fire HD's website, Amazon Fire HD performs very well in terms of max storage capacity relative to other tablet stores.

The review site cnet.com gives Amazon Fire HD excellent ratings for max storage capacity in a review posted on its website. Here's a brief quote from this review:

The "all-new" Fire HD 8 tablet for 2018 is much more of a refresh than a major upgrade. Available in the same colors and chassis as the previous model, the latest Amazon Fire HD 8 adds a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with 720p video, support for up to 400GB additional storage via its microSD slot and hands-free Alexa support even when your screen is in standby mode. It starts at the same cost as the last HD 8: $80 (£80) for the 16GB with built-in "special offer" ads, which you can buy out at any time for a flat $15 fee.

The review site trustedreviews.com gives Amazon Fire HD excellent ratings for max storage capacity in a review posted on its website. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

Despite its price, there are areas where the Fire HD 8 impresses. For example, it includes 16GB storage and there’s a 32GB model available, too. This was ample to allow for me to install a handful of data-greedy games; many sub-£150 tablets provide only 8GB. The Fire HD 8 also has a microSD slot on the side and supports card up to 400GB, an important extra if you want to load up some movies for a long plane journey.

Best Display Performance – Winner: Amazon Fire HD
4.0 stars

Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Lenovo Tab's website, Lenovo Tab performs very well in terms of display performance relative to other tablet stores.

One reviewer on techradar.com said Lenovo Tab performs well on display performance relative to its peers. You can read the full review here. From this review:

A 1,200 x 1,920 display makes the Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus much better for games, movies, digital comics and for reading articles than those tablets. iPads are sharper still, but the leap from a ‘bad’ resolution to a ‘good’ one is the main thing.

Based on ratings published by trusted online review sites as well as information from Amazon Fire HD's website, Amazon Fire HD performs average to better than average in terms of display performance compared to other tablet stores.

Based on a review posted on pcmag.com, Amazon Fire HD was rated as fairly average for display performance relative to competing tablet stores. Check out the entire review here. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

The Fire HD 10 fulfills Amazon's simple plan for its tablets: Like other Fires, it's an inexpensive ($149.99 with lock screen ads) way to consume your Amazon content. At first glance, it doesn't appear to be the barn-burning deal that the Fire HD 8 is, but it still offers plenty of bang for your buck. You get a sharp 1080p display, solid overall performance, and an easy-to-use UI that includes parental controls and Alexa voice assistant integration. The Fire HD 10 is simply the best 10-inch tablet for the price, earning it our Editors' Choice.

Based on a review posted on cnet.com, Amazon Fire HD was rated as fairly average for display performance relative to competing tablet stores. Check out the entire review here. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

Display isn't as sharp as the iPad's; to truly take advantage of what the tablet has to offer, you need an Amazon Prime membership; slow charging (takes 6 hours to fully cap battery).

Best Battery Performance – Tie
5.0 stars

Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Lenovo Tab's website, Lenovo Tab performs very well in terms of battery performance relative to other tablet stores.

One reviewer on trustedreviews.com said Lenovo Tab performs well on battery performance relative to its peers. You can read the full review here. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

The most important part of any tablet is the display. Especially for a tablet such as this, which will primarily be used for Netflix viewing and the like. The Tab 4 10 Plus includes a 10.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a decent 1920 x 1200 resolution.

The review site laptopmag.com gives Lenovo Tab excellent ratings for battery performance in a review posted on its website. From this review:

The Tab 4's 10-inch, 1280 x 800 display is fine for movie watching or game playing, but it doesn't have the vibrant colors you'll find on more expensive tablets. When I watched a trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, the green of the Hulk's skin and the red of Thor's cape seemed mostly accurate, though a bit dull. However, despite its relatively low-resolution display, the panel showed fine details, like the stubble on Bruce Banner's face, and the textures of a wall were sharp and prominent.

Based on reviews posted on popular review sites as well as from Amazon Fire HD's website, Amazon Fire HD performs very well in terms of battery performance relative to other tablet stores.

One reviewer on cnet.com said Amazon Fire HD performs well on battery performance relative to its peers. You can read the full review here. Specifically, this reviewer pointed out the following:

The only downgrade I noticed in the specs is that battery life has decreased by 2 hours. It was rated at 12 hours for "mixed use" in the previous model. Now it's rated at around 10 hours. "[The] Fire HD 8 includes always-ready, hands-free Alexa, which impacts battery usage," an Amazon spokesperson explained to CNET. "There are hardware capabilities that help manage battery impact, but Alexa hands-free is also an optional feature. If you choose to turn it off, you may gain about 2 hours of battery life. You can still access Alexa by pushing the Home button."

The review site pcmag.com gives Amazon Fire HD excellent ratings for battery performance in a review posted on its website. From this review:

Battery life is solid. When streaming full-screen video over Wi-Fi at maximum brightness, the tablet clocked 6 hours, 14 minutes. That's a couple of hours short of the Tab 4 10 (8 hours, 11 minutes), but over an hour longer than the HD 8 (4 hours, 42 minutes). It should be enough juice to keep kids entertained during a long car ride, and you can always supplement it with a portable charger. Enabling Low Power mode and Automatic Smart Suspend helps extend runtime by tamping down screen brightness and turning off wireless connectivity when it's not in use.
